UK Research and Innovation (the umbrella body of UK Research Councils, Research England and Innovate UK) has made available additional funding for Universities to grant costed extensions.
To qualify for this additional funding, researchers must hold a Research Council/IUK grant that, after extension, will end before 30 September 2021. Queen Mary will prioritise grants and fellowships finishing before 31 March 2021.
A full explanation of this funding, how it will work at Queen Mary and relevance deadlines, is set out in a UKRI costed funding guidance [PDF 239KB] document.
The key points are that:
- Phase 1 allocations were made according to an algorithm and decisions on that were made by 31 August 2020
- Phase 2 allocations are competitive, with a closing date of 30 September 2020
To apply for Phase 2 funding please read the UKRI costed funding guidance [PDF 239KB] document and then complete the UKRI extension application form (September 2020) [DOC 18KB]
Completed application forms must be sent to Maria Rhodes in the JRMO by 5 pm, 30 September 2020
If you have any questions about any aspects of this, including discussing any Phase 2 applications, please contact Jan Clarke in the JRMO: firstname.lastname@example.org
The UKRI’s full guidance can be found on their website.
